Backend Engineer with Go Location: 

Location: Remote (Americas time zones)
Experience: 4+ years Golang (5–8 years total preferred)

About the Role

We’re hiring a Backend Engineer to build scalable, privacy-first systems that handle sensitive data securely. You’ll work on backend services powering privacy-preserving products, collaborating closely with cryptography and infrastructure teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and maintain backend services using Golang
  • Develop APIs and distributed systems focused on data privacy and security
  • Implement secure data processing pipelines and storage systems
  • Collaborate with cryptography teams to integrate privacy-preserving technologies
  • Optimize performance, scalability, and reliability of services
  • Write clean, testable, and well-documented code

Requirements

  • 4+ years of hands-on experience with Golang
  • Strong experience building scalable backend systems and APIs
  • Solid understanding of distributed systems and microservices architecture
  • Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure)
  • Familiarity with databases (PostgreSQL, NoSQL systems like Cassandra or MongoDB)
  • Understanding of security best practices in backend development

Nice to Have

  • Experience with privacy technologies (e.g., zero-knowledge proofs, MPC)
  • Background in security engineering or applied cryptography
  • Experience with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes)
  • Exposure to high-throughput data processing systems
